Old Pictures from Anaco - Page 26
Received these pictures from Peter Tveskov on February 19, 2008.
From the USSI-Oilwell Camp on the Carretera Negra in Anaco - 1960
(the "younger" ones of us may remember the USSI-Oilwell camp as the one
located at the turn-off from the Carretera Negra to Escuela Anaco...  there was a small
pump-jack by a warehouse right along the road to the school.)
Thanks Peter!

Peter's comment "Note my wrecked VW company car
in the background. Victim of a head-on encounter with
a "White" truck on the road to Roblecito at 4:00 AM.
It was never the same after that!  Also by the warehouse
an Oilwell 36-P  secondary recovery pump which I eventually
installed around Barinas.

Does anyone remember these from the 1960's?

Received a note on May 24, 2008 from Philip Walker
"I lived in San Tome and Maraciabo from 1951 to 1960. My Father
worked for Mene Grande. On page 26 the question is
asked if any one remembers the Venezuelan serving trays. Well I
purchased one for my mother on her birthday in March 1959
when I was only 9 years old. I've inherited the tray and
keep it in my kitchen where I see it every day."

Thanks Philip -
